Per molte persone il caffè del mattino è un piccolo rito: un momento di pausa prima che tutto cominci. Se quel gesto passa da un'app, non dovrebbe diventare un ostacolo. È da qui che siamo partiti con Lavazza.

This website integrates accessWidget, an automated accessibility tool developed by accessiBe Ltd. and distributed by AccessiWay. The widget allows users to personalize their browsing experience based on their needs.
When the user activates the widget, their IP address is technically transmitted, but:

it is anonymized via a proxy located in the European Union;

Sono le sette del mattino. Un genitore tiene il figlio in braccio e con la mano libera prova ad avviare il caffè dall'app.
Il telefono in bilico, il pollice che arriva dove può, un occhio allo schermo e uno al bambino. Un tocco a vuoto, si ricomincia da capo.
In quel momento il genitore incontra delle difficoltà che gli complicano la giornata. E qui sta il punto: ciò che è accessibile per chi ha una disabilità motoria risolve anche il problema di chi, in quel momento, non ha una mano libera. Capita a tutti, più volte al giorno.
Prendere un caffè senza ostacoli: il progetto Lavazza
Per molte persone il caffè del mattino è un piccolo rito: un gesto che si ripete uguale ogni giorno, un momento di pausa prima che tutto cominci. Se quel gesto passa da un'app, non dovrebbe diventare un ostacolo.
È da qui che siamo partiti con Lavazza. L'obiettivo non era solo rendere conformi due app, ma far sì che avviare il caffè restasse semplice per chiunque: chi usa uno screen reader, chi ha una disabilità permanente, e chi in quel momento ha soltanto una mano libera.
Il lavoro si è mosso su due fronti: l'integrazione tra le app e le macchine da caffè connesse, e la semplificazione del flusso, perché arrivare alla tazza richieda meno passaggi e meno attenzione possibile.

La sfida: due app, un hardware, una catena da non spezzare
Le macchine da caffè connesse di Lavazza si gestiscono da due app, App Tablì e App Piacere Lavazza, collegate alla macchina via Bluetooth o Wi-Fi.
Questo cambia le dinamiche di lavoro del team perché ogni correzione va testata e validata lungo tutta la catena: dal sistema operativo del telefono all'interfaccia dell'app, fino al dialogo con la macchina fisica.
Possiamo correggere un pulsante nell'app, ma se il comando non arriva alla macchina, per chi la usa non è ancora cambiato niente.
La soglia per ottenere l'Accessiway Digital Accessibility Badge è netta: zero errori critici e un punteggio di accessibilità sopra il 90% su entrambe le app.
Macchine accese, via ai test dal vivo
Testare da remoto non bastava. Un audit a distanza dice se un componente è etichettato correttamente, ma non cosa succede quando una persona prende in mano il telefono e prova a farsi un caffè.

Così l'abbiamo fatto di persona. Tre sessioni di test in sede, con i dispositivi accesi, fianco a fianco con i team di prodotto e di sviluppo di Lavazza.
Abbiamo testato il flusso completo:
telefono → app → macchina → caffè nella tazza.

Gli ingredienti del progetto
L'effetto moltiplicatore: quando una correzione vale come due
App Piacere Lavazza ha raggiunto lo standard per il badge in un tempo molto breve, grazie alla struttura modulare del touchpoint.
È qui che il lavoro diventa un investimento. Ogni fix fatto su App Tablì era già pronto per App Piacere Lavazza. Non abbiamo ricominciato da capo: siamo arrivati al secondo audit con le correzioni già scritte, gli insight già validati e un team di sviluppo che ormai parlava la lingua dell'accessibilità.
E questo capitale resta a disposizione per le prossime release e i nuovi prodotti dell'ecosistema Lavazza.

Costruzione dell'autonomia del team interno
Non ci siamo limitati a consegnare una lista di correzioni.
Abbiamo supportato i team di Lavazza nel capire il perché di ogni fix, così da poter guidare il proprio fornitore di sviluppo con precisione: chiedere la cosa giusta, nel modo giusto. Meno rimbalzi e un team che si prende in carico la propria conformità nel tempo.
Creazione di un metodo condiviso per test e rimediazione
Un metodo che resta. La documentazione e la metodologia di test che lasciamo non si esauriscono con queste due app: diventano il modo di lavorare del team.

Torniamo a quel caffè
Torniamo al genitore con il bambino in braccio e il caffè da avviare con una mano.
Dopo la rimediazione, quel gesto adesso funziona. Oltre ad aver migliorato un gesto quotidiano di una persona, conta anche ciò che resta a Lavazza quando il progetto finisce: un team interno che sa riconoscere e difendere l'accessibilità, e una base di componenti già sistemati che ogni nuova release si ritrova in dote fin dalla partenza.
L'accessibilità smette di essere un progetto con una scadenza e diventa un modo di costruire. E Lavazza lo sa: dopo aver certificato entrambe le app, ha rinnovato la partnership con Accessiway per nuovi progetti. Il lavoro continua.
