With just weeks to go before the European Accessibility Act came into force, Accessiway brought together policymakers, legal experts, technologists and accessibility advocates for a landmark half-day conference at one of Milan's most iconic venues. Hosted in collaboration with the Milan Office of the European Parliament, the event drew nearly 100 guests and more than 10 speakers from across Europe for an open, high-level conversation about what the EAA truly means — for businesses, for society, and for the millions of people with disabilities whose daily lives it is designed to improve.

The programme moved from policy to practice and from law to lived experience. Opening remarks set the stage with contributions from the European Parliament's Head of the Milan Liaison Office and Accessiway's own President, framing the EAA not as a bureaucratic deadline but as a turning point for digital Europe.

Two panels followed: the first tackled legal and technical readiness, bringing together Italy's national digital agency AGID, Accessiway's Chief Accessibility Officer, and a leading creative agency. The second panel placed the human dimension at the centre, with Accessiway's Chief Vision Officer — who lives with a visual disability — speaking alongside European sustainability and legal leaders about what digital inclusion means as a fundamental right.

The event closed with a forward-looking address from Accessiway's CEO on where accessibility and inclusion are headed next, followed by a networking lunch that continued the conversations well beyond the programme.
