Key points
Accessiway is a Leader in the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility. The report, published 5 October 2026, replaces the earlier Gartner Market Guide for the category.
Gartner expects human-AI accessibility assurance. The emerging market direction is toward human-AI accessibility assurance, where deterministic automation, AI agents, and accessibility professionals each perform the work for which they are best suited.
European rules shape European programs. We support the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and national frameworks in Germany, Austria, and Italy, with data hosted in the EU.
On 5 October 2026, Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility, and Accessiway is positioned in the Leaders quadrant. For the banks, retailers, public bodies, and technology companies that use our accessibility compliance solution, it’s an independent look at the category they’re buying into.
We’re proud of the recognition, and grateful to our customers and our team, including colleagues with lived experience of disability who shape how we test and what we build.
What is the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility?
Digital accessibility platforms have evolved from periodic compliance tools into continuous, AI-augmented accessibility assurance. This Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors as agentic testing, intelligent remediation and adaptive experiences reshape the market.
The 2026 edition is the first, and it replaces the Gartner Market Guide for Digital Accessibility.
Providers need to meet the following criteria to qualify for inclusion.
General availability
The vendor must provide a generally available (GA) digital accessibility product or platform that has been commercially available for production use for at least 12 months prior to the start of the research process.
2. Product capability alignment
The product must provide proprietary functionality in the following areas:
Automated accessibility testing:
Comprehensive scanning of websites, web applications, and web-based content to ensure they meet the latest WCAG standards
Detection of common accessibility barriers (including but not limited to alt text, form labels, keyboard access, ARIA usage, color contrast, and semantic structure)
Issue reporting and remediation guidance:
Clear, prioritized issue reporting that identifies severity, impact, and affected elements
Detailed remediation guidance with practical, actionable, and repeatable instructions for designers, developers, and content teams
Reference to the latest relevant WCAG success criteria
Developer tool integration and browser extensions:
Integration with development tools (including but not limited to IDEs, code repositories, and CI/CD workflows)
Browser extensions for real-time inspection and analysis in common browsers
Accessibility monitoring and dashboards:
Continuous scanning and monitoring for accessibility regressions across supported digital properties
Dashboard reporting with accessibility trends, issue status, compliance indicators, and historical data
Issue management and collaboration:
Ability to assign, track, and manage issues, including integration with work management and ticketing tools
Collaboration features that support cross-functional visibility across accessibility, design, development, QA, and content teams
Documentation and export:
Exportable reports for compliance, testing results, and remediation status
Audit trails and historical records of accessibility findings and actions taken
User and role management:
Multiuser access with role-based permissions
Enterprise identity and access support, including SSO
Gartner places each vendor in one of four quadrants (Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries, Niche Players) using two measures:
Measure | What it looks at |
Ability to Execute | Product or service, overall viability, sales execution and pricing, market responsiveness, marketing execution, customer experience, operations |
Completeness of Vision | Market understanding, marketing and sales strategy, offering strategy, business model, vertical strategy, innovation, geographic strategy |
What a Leader position means for enterprise accessibility programs
Leaders provide mature digital accessibility platforms that address broad enterprise requirements across testing, remediation, governance, and reporting, and they demonstrate the vision needed to sustain their positions as accessibility standards, regulations, and development practices evolve. Leaders invest consistently in capabilities such as shift-left testing, automation, AI-assisted remediation, workflow integration, and enterprise-scale governance, helping shape the direction of the market.
Leaders typically have large, satisfied customer bases relative to the market and strong visibility among enterprise buyers. Their scale, financial strength, partner ecosystems, and service capabilities support complex, global accessibility programs.
Leaders generally address a broad range of accessibility needs across web, mobile, applications, and digital content. However, they may not always provide the deepest capabilities required for highly specialized use cases, document types, industries, or accessibility workflows.
In practice, enterprise teams bring us four recurring requirements. Here’s how our digital accessibility platform answers each one.
One view across a large digital estate
Large organizations rarely have one website. They run brand sites, logged-in portals, single-page applications, native mobile apps, and thousands of PDFs.
The platform brings automated monitoring, expert audits, and user testing for all of them into one dashboard. For high volumes of statements, invoices, and reports, the PDF Solution Suite includes an on-premises API option for teams in highly regulated industries.
Issues that land in your development workflow
Enterprise accessibility fails less often on detection than on follow-through: issues get found, then sit in a report nobody owns.
Two-way sync with Jira and Azure DevOps puts each issue in the backlog your developers already use, with its location, severity, and the relevant WCAG success criterion. When the issue moves in Jira, its status updates in the platform.
Evidence for legal, risk, and procurement
Compliance officers need to show what was found, what was fixed, and what was accepted as an exception. The platform tracks service-level agreements (SLAs), manages waivers, and keeps a full audit trail of findings and actions.
European rules and European data
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) applies across the EU, but each country transposes it in its own way. We map requirements to the frameworks our customers answer to:
Austria: BaFG and the Web Accessibility Act (WZG)
Italy: the Legge Stanca and AgID guidelines
All customer data is hosted in the EU, which matters for organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements.
Where Gartner sees the digital accessibility market heading
Since 2025, the digital accessibility market has evolved in four important ways:
AI agents are beginning to automate work that previously required manual accessibility testing.
Guided testing is becoming intelligent rather than procedural.
Accessibility is moving deeper into AI-augmented software engineering.
Accessibility is beginning to move from remediation toward native adaptation.
AI agents remain imperfect, adaptive interfaces still need accessible components, and many requirements depend on human judgment and on evaluation by people with disabilities.
Regulation keeps pushing adoption too. The EAA has applied since 28 June 2025, and accessibility is moving from a specialist topic into software quality and risk management.
How we approach continuous accessibility
We built our platform around the same hybrid model. AI handles detection and monitoring at scale. Certified specialists handle judgment and complex remediation guidance, and they validate AI-assisted guidance before an issue is marked as resolved.
Enterprise accessibility fails less often on detection than on follow-through: issues get found, then sit in a report nobody owns.
We launched the platform in April 2026 to replace the audit, report, and repeat cycle with continuous management. User testing with people with disabilities stays part of the process, because it finds barriers no scanner can.
Our accessibility widget is an optional first step that lets visitors personalize how a page looks and behaves. It doesn’t replace fixes in your code, content, and design, and it doesn’t make a site conformant on its own. That’s why the platform is built around audits, remediation, and monitoring.
FAQ about the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility
Is this the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for digital accessibility?
Yes. Gartner published it on 5 October 2026, and it replaces the earlier Market Guide for Digital Accessibility.
How many vendors are in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility?
Gartner evaluated 19 vendors and positioned six of them as Leaders, Accessiway among them.
Does choosing a Leader make an organization compliant?
No. Compliance is an ongoing practice, and your teams still fix the code, content, and design. A platform gives you the visibility and tools to manage it continuously. Gartner itself advises buyers to evaluate vendors against their own priority use cases.
Which standards and laws does the Accessiway platform support?
The platform covers WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, EN 301 549, and the EAA. It also maps to national frameworks, including BFSG and BITV 2.0 in Germany, BaFG and WZG in Austria, AgID guidelines in Italy, and RGAA in France.
Where to begin?
Accessiway is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Accessibility, and for enterprise teams the practical step is to judge any vendor on continuous monitoring, workflow integration, and regional coverage for their own estate.

Article 50 of the AI Act applies from August 2, 2026. Those who operate chatbots, generate synthetic content, or publish deepfakes must inform individuals. Paragraph 5 adds a condition missing from almost all compliance checklists: the notice itself must comply with applicable accessibility requirements.
